Saab confirms that the first payment of the funding, which was promised by Youngman, now has been transferred to Saab’s account. The efforts to secure the remaining funding, needed to pay salaries and continue the voluntary reorganization, continue and the work is moving progressively forward

Trollhättan, Sweden: Swedish Automobile N.V. (Swan) announces it has been informed that the administrator of the reorganization, Mr. Guy Lofalk, will apply for termination of the voluntary reorganization of Saab Automobile AB (Saab Automobile) and two subsidiaries with the District Court in Vänersborg, Sweden.

Saab Automobile and its creditors have approximately five to six days to submit their view to the District Court before the Court takes a final decision about termination of the reorganization. The management of Saab Automobile will consider future steps and continues the current discussions with Youngman about the necessary funding to pay the wages and be able to continue the voluntary reorganization.

Trollhättan, Sweden: Swedish Automobile N.V. (Swan) and Saab Automobile AB (Saab Automobile) announce that Saab Great Britain Ltd (Saab GB) filed for administration with the High Court inLondon today.

Trollhättan, Sweden: Swedish Automobile N.V. (Swan) and Saab Automobile AB (Saab Automobile) announce that Saab Great Britain Ltd (Saab GB) filed for administration with the High Court in London today.

The board of Saab GB is of the opinion that administration gives the company and creditors the necessary legal protection until the required funding for the company has been secured. The appointment of the administrator is effected by the directors of Saab GB. Once appointed, the administrator will take on the management powers of the directors.

Swan received a conditional funding commitment from Youngman for the payment of the wages of the employees of Saab Automobile and for the continuation of the activities of Saab GB. Saab Automobile and Saab GB have not yet received this funding.

Winter Weekend

The Shakespeare “Sonett 11”

Friday 3 to Sunday 5 February 2012

Due to the great success of last year’s event and many requests from members who attended, we have decided to return to the Stratford Manor Hotel again next year.

It was one of the best hotels that we have used for this event and in a great location so we know that you will not be disappointed.

Immersed in 21 acres of landscaped grounds yet just 3 miles from the centre of historic Stratford it is the perfect place to shrug off those winter blues and met up with friends old and new.

Despite its tranquil setting, the hotel is just 5 minutes away from the M40, connecting you to a number of interesting cultural attractions, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa, The Heritage motor centre at Gaydon and the bustling market towns and quaint Cotswold stone villages.

Additionally the indoor pool and fitness centre is available to all guests at no extra charge.

Our package for the weekend will include:

2 nights Dinner, Bed & Breakfast

Packed lunch on Saturday

Dedicated free secure parking area

Private dining room on both evenings with an extra special surprise on Saturday.

Wine with Saturday dinner

We have again invited Erik Carlsson to join us and, although we cannot guarantee it, he has promised that he will be there if at all possible.

We will again prepare a local tour (different one from last year) for those who would like to explore the area at your leisure. In addition to this we have a treasure hunt on foot around Warwick Town Centre.

To complete your weekend we have also secured, through the hotel, some special prices for 2 local major attractions, as follows.

Warwick Castle

Adult day pass normally £24.60 will cost just £17

Senior day pass normally £19.80 will cost just £12

Heritage Motor Museum, Gaydon

Adult day pass normally £11 will cost just £6

The cost for the weekend will be £125 per person (£115 for SOC members) based on 2 people sharing.

If you wish to make it a longer break by extending your stay we have negotiated a fantastic B&B rate of just £50 per room for the Sunday night. If you wish to take up this offer, please let us know when sending your deposit.

To book please send us a deposit of £25 per head by 1 December. Cheques should be made payable to The Saab Owners Club of GB Ltd.

Final balances will be due in January 2012.

As there are limited spaces and quite a few bookings already received, we would advise booking as soon as possible. Last year it filled up very quickly so please do not hesitate.

Please forward to Hilary Philpott, Lamorna, 1, Oriel Way, Brackley, Northants, NN13 6DR.

ebor saab scottish mystery weekend may 2019 1 20190529 190050204414 Ebor Saab members set off on Friday 10 May to make their separate ways to the assembly point at Gretna Green for what was billed as a Scottish Mystery Weekend, the mystery being only the organisers knew the itinerary. North of Scotland

There is no formal Branch currently in operation (largely as a result of the sheer geographical spread of members across this area) and therefore no regular meetings.
Where possible, there is usually an  SOC 'presence' at gatherings across the region organised by other clubs, motor museums or advertised on web forums (principally UKSaabs).

The dates known so far for 2020 at which we aim to be represented are:

  • 26th Apr           FBHVC 'Drive It Day' 2020  - various local runs (I'll be attending the one organised by the Highland Classic Motor Club, Inverness)
  • 9th May            Inverness Classic Vehicle Show - on the streets of Inverness with Parade finale led by pipe band
  • 10th May         Grampian Transport Museum, Alford, Aberdeenshire - "How Many Left" event for 'nearly classic' vehicles with fewer than 500 examples on the road
  • 23rd May         Rotary Club of East Sutherland Classic Car Tour, Dornoch
  • 11/12th Jul      46th Scottish Transport Extravaganza, Glamis Castle, Angus (see UKSaabs forum for details)
  • 9th Aug            Historic Wheels Vintage Car Rally, Brodie Castle, Morayshire
  • 31st Aug          Fortrose & Rosemarkie Classic Vehicle Rally, Fortrose, Ross-shire.
  • 6th Sept           Motor Mania, Grantown on Spey.
  • 19th Sept         'Wheels of Nairn', Nairn Links
  • Early Dec          Joint SOC/UKSaabs Christmas Gathering - date and venue TBC (see UKSaabs forum for details)
